Dipali Cunningham has been running competitively for the last 34 years, and has completed over 100 marathons and 34 multi-day races including two 1,000 mile races.  She currently holds the World Record for the women’s open six-day road race, as well as 33 Australian National Records. Originally from Australia, Dipali currently lives in New York City and will offer one talk only in Christchurch on her Australasian tour.

Mantra is a Sanskrit word, meaning a syllable divinely surcharged with power, In Indian philosophy, spirituality and the inner life, mantras can play a considerable role. Learn ancient Sanskrit mantras to support physical health, energy and protection.

Learn how foods can be categorised by the degree they enhance or hinder physical energy and spiritual development; how food can be used as a medium to transfer feelings from one person to another; and how the foods we choose can support our efforts for personal growth and support the development and maintenance of a regular meditation practice.

Participate in an evening of music and mantra. Through singing meditative songs, we enter the spiritual heart and find the source of peace and tranquility. Learn about the special role that music - humanity’s universal language – can play in creating a harmonious and peaceful world. This workshop explores the symbiotic relationship enjoyed by meditation, music, song and sound – with the premise that music is the sacred signature of the Divine dwelling in every heart.

Through meditation we turn inward, diving deep into the heart and expanding our consciousness, going deeper and higher than our ordinary experience. However our mind, vital energy and body can stand in our way. The busy mind refuses to be silent. Our vital energy prevents us from sitting quietly. Our body can protest with it’s various maladies and tendency towards lethargy. How can we surmount these obstacles to meditation? Join us for a talk by Vajin Armstrong who has been practising meditation daily for 17 years.

Ikebana is flower arranging steeped in the philosophy of developing a closeness with nature. In this meditative workshop, floral artist Suradhuni Anderson will share techniques learnt from Gerry Arial – florist to Princess Diana and Pope John Paul II, and Junko Miura - Manhattan Ikebana Master. Create to the sound of the Japanese Koto and enjoy a selection of teas as you work.

Cost $35 which includes your arrangement to take home.
