Join us for an evening of enchanting stories, poetry and live music, as we travel along the silk road back to the majestic Moghul courts of India. Into an empire that at its peak stretched from the saffron fields of Kashmir and mountain passes of Afghanistan to the steamy jungles of Bengal.

The Moghul Empire, a testament to the brilliance of Indian history, was ruled by a dynasty of powerful and enigmatic monarchs, each leaving an indelible mark on the subcontinent. From the founding father, Babur, who conquered India with his fierce warrior spirit and poetic soul, to the charismatic Akbar, who expanded the empire’s borders, patronised the arts and introduced religious discussion, each emperor brought a unique blend of military prowess, beauty, learning, and cultural refinement.

Reading from Sri Chinmoy’s book ‘The Moghul Emperors’, Budhsamudra Knox brings to life the rich heritage and splendour of these monarchs. Accompanied by musician Pragunya Myers-Daly, they will take you from the intrigue of the  milky white marble and pink sandstone palaces to the sweeping battle fronts on the edge of their borders, providing insight to an enduring legacy of grandeur, wisdom, and power. Their stories, woven together like the intricate patterns on a Moghul carpet, continue to captivate and inspire today.
