Level 2

Posted on

At level 2 we have re-opened but with extra measures in place, so you will notice some differences from when you’ve visited us before.

We would like to take the time to share with you the measures we have put in place while we operate at alert level 2. We take the safety of our customers, employees and suppliers very seriously and have a position in our operation that is based on the current advice from the Ministry of Health (MOH) and other government agencies.

We request of our customers:

  • For everyone’s health and safety, that if you are unwell or self-isolating that you do not come onto our premises.
  • To observe signage and instructions from our staff.
  • That you complete our Customer Contact Tracing Register.
  • To maintain physical distance from all others of at least one metre when on the premises.

For your reassurance, we are taking at a minimum the following steps:

  • Following requirements by ensuring all customers are:
  • Seated when they are dining at our premises.
  • Separated by ensuring we are following Ministry of Health guidance between groups of customers of 1 metre.
  • Ensuring where possible, when seated, that you and the group you are with will have one server and that they observe the physical distancing guidelines.
  • Ensuring where possible, when seated, that you and the group you are with will have one server and that they observe the physical distancing guidelines.
  • Ensuring that our staff maintain good hygiene, particularly hand hygiene and good cough/sneeze etiquette.

A Contact Tracing Register will be kept for all staff, customers and suppliers that interact with our business. This is in order to maintain records to enable contact tracing and we will provide these records to the Ministry of Health and/or the relevant District Health Board on request. We give you our full assurance that we will not keep or store any information in these records for any other purpose and they will be destroyed after 2 months as per the guidelines.

Along with our routine cleaning we are taking extra steps to sanitise all surfaces, high touch surfaces and tables and chairs after each use. Our staff are trained appropriately in food hygiene practices which reinforce a clean environment for us all. We have a current Food Control Plan registered with MPI.

We hope this confirms our commitment to our people – our staff and suppliers, and you, our customers.

Thank you for your ongoing support. Your understanding is greatly appreciated. We welcome your feedback and wish to thank you for supporting us.

Dear Friends,

We sympathise and understand that our friends and family around the world are facing challenges that have never been experienced before, and we are doing our very best to navigate this time with care, understanding and diligence.

The health and wellbeing of our customers, staff and all New Zealanders is our highest priority, and you can be assured we are doing everything we possible can for our common safety.

The Lotus-Heart is following guidelines and advice from the New Zealand Government and the Ministry of Health, with respect to health and safety.

As a team that has service and hospitality in our very hearts, we want nothing more than to continue on with business as usual – welcoming guests into our home, cooking and feeding them, and offering them a moment of escape from all that’s going on in the world.

If you haven’t visited us recently, or would like to know more, here’s an update for you on how we are working to keep you our customers, and our team safe and healthy, while continuing to enjoy The Lotus Heart Restaurant. Some of the measures we have always taken, while others are now enhanced.

Our staff are increasing the frequency of cleaning and disinfecting of all commonly touched surfaces throughout the day. Including but not limited to: tables, chairs, door handles, railings, faucets, eftpos terminal and menus, spraying disinfectant on all surfaces. As always our staff are washing their hands before and after handling food, as well as increasing the frequency of which they wash their hands throughout the day. We also have hand sanitiser and colloidal silver spray by our point of sale and water station for everyone’s use.

Being together is at the heart of everything we do, and our duty of care to our team and guests matters greatly to us, therefore we are doing everything we can to help keep everyone as safe as possible.

We appreciate your time and understanding

Take care

Songs of the Soul

Posted on

The Lotus-Heart is proud to be supporting “Songs of the Soul,” at the Piano, 6 November, 8.00pm.

Join us for an unforgettable free concert featuring world and classical musicians. Journey across a sublime musical landscape of eastern and western, tranquil and dynamic, magical and meditative melodies.

Featuring :

• Shamita Achenbach of the Vienna Chamber Orchestra
• Sahadeva Torpy with his 20 piece concert jazz orchestra
• Alap Jetzer: Renowned New Age musician, flute player and maker.
• Monk Party: Auckland father and son duo performing on guitar and world percussion instruments – cajon, oud and bodhrán

This vibrant entourage of musicians perform the music of Maestro Sri Chinmoy: musician, poet, artist and master of meditation who voiced an endless vista of spiritual experience through over 22,000 songs. Blending styles of East and West, contemporary and classical – piano, harp, sitar, Indian flute and tamboura play in harmony to bring forth an experience of elevated music and an experience of inner peace. Over the past 7 years, more than 200 free concerts in this series have been offered throughout Europe and North America. Their first tour of Australia and New Zealand in November 2016 will give listeners the chance to be uplifted and enchanted by Sri Chinmoy’s compositions.

Highly regarded for his creative capacity, Sri Chinmoy himself performed hundreds of free concerts during his lifetime. He believed that “Music is the universal language. Soulful music is next to meditation, and it carries the beauty and fragrance of silence.”

The Songs of the Soul Concert will be held at The Piano, a world class facility for New Zealand and a home for music and the arts in Canterbury, in The Philip Carter Family Concert Hall with a raised stage and tiered concert hall seating auditorium, accoustics designed to enhance the presentation of the musical performances to the fullest, and the latest in lighting and audio/visual technologies.

Admission is free but seating is limited. Please reserve tickets by visiting www.songsofthesoul.org

New food equipment available in the Health food store

Everything you need to set up your own raw food or healthy kitchen.

Blenders: Vitamix, Blendtec and Omega. These are the highest quality, most durable and most powerful blenders available and are crucial in The Lotus-Heart kitchen for creating our raw food dishes. With 2HP and 3HP motors, these blenders power through the densest ingredients, perfectly marrying them to one another, resulting in beautifully smooth soups, smoothies and raw meals. You are also guaranteed a blender that will not burn out under the pressure of heavy ingredients.

Slow Press Juicers
: These work by pressing, rather than centrifuging the fruit, keeping the nutrients intact, resulting in a fresher, healthier, tastier and more complete juice. We have in store: Hurom, Omega, Oscar Pro and Oscar Neo slow juicers. These juicers are not as slow as the name might suggest, in fact fast they are fast enough, and of such durability, that we use them in our restaurant. If you are considering buying a juicer, we recommend you try a juice here at The Lotus-Heart, and taste the difference for yourself.

Dehydrators: We have Excalibur dehydrators available in both stainless steel and colours; the Sedona Dehydrators by Tribest with a current special of 9 free dehydrator sheets with the purchase of a Sedona Combo Dehydrator; and also the more economical digital LeQuip dehydrator and Bio Chef dehydrators.

KitchenAid: In 1919 the iconic KitchenAid Stand Mixer was born. From that stemmed an entire kitchen of high-performance appliances, all created with the same attention to detail, quality craftsmanship, cutting edge technology and timeless design. Every product that carries the KitchenAid name is guaranteed to be strong, reliable and versatile and is backed by more than 90 years of experience and excellence in the food arena. And as the only appliance brand that makes appliances exclusively for the kitchen, KitchenAid continues to keep pushing the limits with their products so you can keep doing the same with everything you create. We display a selection from the artisan range but can bring in anything from the complete range as required.
