Oat Milk Versus Soy Milk: Which Suits You?

Plant-Based Milks at The Lotus-Heart

Posted on

Choosing your milk is part of making a drink your own. At The Lotus-Heart in Christchurch, we offer five plant-based options: oat, almond, pea, coconut and cashew milk. Our cashew milk is made here in our own kitchen.

Our house-made cashew milk

Cashew milk has a special place in our kitchen because we make it ourselves. It is one of the small, thoughtful touches that make a visit to The Lotus-Heart our own.

If you usually choose oat or almond milk and would like to try something different, ask us about our house-made cashew milk when you next visit.

Five plant-based choices

Our plant-based milk selection gives you several options for your next drink:

  • Oat milk
  • Almond milk
  • Pea milk
  • Coconut milk
  • House-made cashew milk

Everyone has their own preferences, and different milks can change the character of a drink. If you are unsure which to choose, ask our team about the options for the drink you are ordering.

Our approach to soy

We choose not to serve soy milk, reflecting our longstanding preferences around ingredients and sourcing. The soy products we use include organic tofu, organic tempeh and organic tamari.

For drinks, we offer oat, almond, pea, coconut and our own house-made cashew milk.

What about dairy milk?

For those who prefer dairy, our milk offering is A2. Simply let us know your preference when ordering.

Choosing for dietary requirements

If you have a food allergy or a specific dietary requirement, please discuss it with our team before ordering. The name of a plant milk alone does not tell you everything about its ingredients or how a drink is prepared.
